Defaulting folders on web sites

Have you ever noticed that when you type a URL that doesn't end with a file, your get a web page, directory listing, or file not found error?

Well most web servers look for default filenames in your folder if you don't specify a filename
e.g. index.html

So when your goto www.colmdunphy.com if shows you a html file even though you didn't specify one. It actually shows you www.colmdunphy.com/index.html.

Take advantage of this for your web portfolio by including a file called index.html in the portfolio folder. So if you created your porfolio in HTML, then rename or copy the html as "index.html"
e.g. www.colmdunphy.com/portfolio
