- ENSURE that you are using a standard flash ad size. You must modify the size of the flash document (preferably) before you build your ad.
- Avoid using lots of keyframes - they make your animations jerky and slower to download and more expensive on mobile phones. Ask yourself can I replace all these keyframes with a simple movieclip that is repeated, or a simple tween or both.
- If you are using on/off flashing type animation where the flashing is constant. you can replace lots of keyframes with a simple movieclip for on / off once, then use that movie clip and extend it.
- The background of your ad should NOT be the FOCUS and main idea of the message.i.e. the background should not be the FOREGROUND.
- What is the message? Make it prominent.
- Don't make the screens change too quickly.
- Rule of thumb - views will only read 7 words max per screen.
- Don't be tempted to slow down the ad by chaning the frame rate of the movie. Leave the frame rate alone. Increase the number of frames on the timeline that you use to create the movie.
